A new marina with three hundred berths started its first season in Alsóörs under the name Ypsilon Yacht Club
The investment, which started in 2022, was carried out by the Ypsilon Yacht Club Kft. founded for the project purely on its own, with environmentally conscious solutions – they wrote in their announcement.
In addition to the traditional Balaton sailboats, the port can accommodate ships larger than 40 feet, catamarans, as well as 65 electric boats, providing a quick power supply. There is also a boat service within the complex, with a 16-ton crane.
In the 5.5-hectare area of the new port, several swimming pools, tennis and volleyball courts, barbecue areas, and playgrounds are waiting for companies arriving with renters and touring sailors, and parking facilities within the property are also provided – they explained.
They pointed out that during the construction of the port, they did not touch the surrounding protected reeds and did not expand directly along the coast in order to preserve nature. The buildings are supplied with energy by a solar panel system, and the heating is provided by ground probe heat pumps. The service building belonging to the port is located further away from the coast for nature conservation reasons. Neither from here nor from the parking lot is the water released directly back into the lake, it only goes into Lake Balaton after cleaning, the announcement states.
When asked by MTI, Ypsilon Yacht Club Kft. did not wish to disclose the size of the investment. They revealed that the company is owned by a Hungarian that does not operate another port.
In response to a question, they also informed that a third of the berths in the port, which will officially operate from April 1, 2024, are already full. The port services will be accessible to the tenants and their guests, while the buffet and the future restaurant will also welcome visitors from outside.
