Within weeks, the traffic lights posted by the municipality will go live, and soon the traffic signs will also be erected.
The Metropolitan Municipality has installed permanently installed speedometers, writes Gergely Karácsony on his social media page. The camera on Váci út, next to Duna Plaza, is already operational, the other speedometers will be operational in a few weeks.
The Metropolitan Municipality originally planned 45 cameras suitable for measuring one lane each, but in the end they installed 26 speed cameras that monitor a total of 46 lanes. With the exception of Váci úti, they currently operate in the police KAFIR test system. In the coming weeks, the road signs indicating the cameras will be put up for the first time, after which the speedometers can be put into operation. This means that the police can fine speeders. The fine is the income of the police, the costs of the operation are covered by the Metropolitan Municipality.
