From May to October, charming nostalgia rides operate in Budapest every weekend. The operation of these historic vehicles has become an iconic symbol of Budapest, recognized internationally as a leisure activity. Budapest’s modern transportation history dates back over a hundred years.
Almost all iconic examples of domestic vehicle manufacturing have been seen on Budapest’s streets, many of which have been successfully preserved and restored in recent years. Since 2010, in collaboration with BKK and BKV, enthusiasts can travel on these uniquely designed vehicles representing different eras, which were once part of the daily lives of Budapest residents, as part of the regular nostalgia transport during the summer season. Additionally, nostalgia vehicles occasionally appear on the streets of the capital city during urban events and holidays.

During the nostalgia season from May to October, enthusiasts can experience a journey back in time on the N2 tram along the Pest riverside and the N19 tram operating along the Deák Ferenc Square–Szent Gellért Square–Buda riverside.
In addition to these unique transportation vehicles, Budapest also features retro lines that evoke the atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s. Retro vehicles are types that no longer operate or rarely operate in daily traffic but were once a familiar sight in the city’s landscape.
