The MOL Bubi public bike-sharing system is entering another exciting phase. The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) has launched the public consultation for Bubi 3.0 as part of the preparation for the 2026 development plan. The aim of the organization is to ensure that the future Bubi meets the needs of users as much as possible, so every opinion of Budapest residents counts.
Since its introduction, MOL Bubi has become one of the most popular means of transport in the capital. Through developments in recent years, the system has expanded not only with more bicycles but also with new docking stations. The renewed bicycles, the more functional application, and the simpler, more attractive pricing structure have been warmly welcomed by the residents of Budapest, which is why MOL Bubi’s statistics have been showing new records ever since.
Now, BKK is planning another major leap to make community cycling even more attractive to more people.
Public Consultation on Bubi 3.0
The goal of Bubi 3.0 is for BKK to double the number of bicycles, increase network coverage, and incorporate e-bikes into the service. If successful, green bicycles will become accessible to every second resident of the capital in their immediate vicinity. However, feedback from Budapest residents is essential for this.
Now, every resident of the capital can share their opinion on where new MOL Bubi docking stations are most urgently needed in Budapest. The public consultation is conducted through a short questionnaire that takes only 5 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is anonymous and can be filled out without registration. BKK is accepting responses until July 16.
The questionnaire is available on the BKK website at bkk.hu/bubikerdoiv.
